What would it look like if healthcare professionals practiced a patient-first mindset? What would it mean for patients to be treated like friends and family instead of a name and a number? We want you to experience the answer to those questions. Zoo Crew Pediatric Dentistry strives to embody warm, personalized care. Our doctors and staff are people who genuinely love working with children and who are deeply committed to partnering with parents and families. We love our patients, and we love what we do, so it’s important for us to bring the two together in a practice that operates with you at the center!

How does this shape our office atmosphere and policies? Here are some examples:

  • We invite you to stay with your child during his/her initial examination. Once you and your child have had a chance to meet our staff, we encourage parents to do whatever makes them and their child most comfortable. You, the parent, get to make the decision because value your trust and your child’s comfort.
  • When it comes to scheduling appointments, we try to match what is convenient for you and your child. For younger children, morning appointments often seem to work better due to the fact that they will be more rested. We know that nap-times are important, so we try to be sensitive to that and avoid setting appointments during or just before the child’s nap time. For older kids, we recognize that you are juggling school and other commitments, and we’ll work with you as much as we can! (We do request a 24-hour notice for any change to his/her appointment.)
  • We stay up to date with the equipment used in all our procedures! This allows us to detect dental concerns at early stages, treat your child’s dental issues with precision, and provide stunning customized restorations.
  • We offer behavior management options, which help children who are anxious about treatment or too young to stay calm during delicate procedures that might feel overwhelming to them. Your child’s dental health is important, and we’re here to protect and promote that health within a safe and caring environment.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommend establishing a “Dental Home” for your child by the age of one year. By establishing a dental home, children are more likely to receive appropriate preventive and routine oral health care. We love the way the phrase “Dental Home” captures the vision of nurture, trust, and stability. Nothing makes us happier than being that safe place that provides parents with tools to help their kids grow up cavity-free and go into life with healthy habits!
